The narrow leaves release a powerful lemon fragrance when crushed — the essential oil is used in insect repellents and perfumery. The trunk is smooth, pale gray-white, and ghostly in afternoon light. One of the most elegant large eucalyptus. Zone 8–11. Drought-tolerant once established. Fast-growing. A mature specimen in a large yard or park is a statement nothing else makes — white column, 100 feet high, smells like citrus when you brush it.
