Za Baobab
Adansonia za
“Madagascar's most common baobab. Orange blooms. Cylindrical and ancient.”
Madagascar's most widespread baobab, the Za produces striking orange-yellow flowers and tart edible fruit. Trunk form ranges from cylindrical to wildly irregular depending on age and conditions. Deciduous during the dry season. Hardy to Zone 9 in dry conditions. The Za and the Grandidier grow in the same landscapes but have entirely different characters — like two varieties of the same stubbornness.
